The Dawn Of A New VSU

Mon Jan 21 2019 00:19:06 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)
As usual, we started by sharing hundreds of tequeños. Then, the reggaeton stopped, and a Video started playing: A video that captured the very reason that brought more than fifty international Hispanic students together to that room that Wednesday night.
After a round of claps, we discussed how that very reason is all about that sweet and sour feeling that every first-time Hispanic international student goes through when they arrive at Boston:
Sweet: as in the collective eagerness to succeed academically, professionally, socially, and emotionally, in addition to that willingness to make a social impact that is very characteristic of our ethnicity.
Sour: as in the frustration behind not ever fully knowing how this new country and city work, in addition to an inconvenient lack of organization skills.
Then we proceeded to introduce all the members of the new club executive board and to talk about the keywords that would determine the modus operandi of VSU: Cultural, Competitive, Professional, Recreational, Academic, Social Impact, and Boston Integration.
Shortly after that, we explained our arsenal to accomplish the club goals this Spring 2019: more than nineteen events, eleven teams, two spaces, four services, and five key contacts.
When all was said and done, new members registered to the club website. And we proceeded to say our goodbyes with the excitement of a well-planned term ahead of us.
Hopefully, we are looking at the dawn of new VSU full of opportunities for each of our members.
